Maciek Kozlowski is a multiple award winning designer and engineer of media spaces and distance communications systems. He has over 20 years experience in the audio/video/data communications space including extensive experience in international pre-competitive industry/academia research projects environment. He was a member of the Ontario Telepresence Project and is a founding Board member of the KMDI/University of Toronto open source ePresence project. His experience also includes the energy industry where in the 1980s he was responsible for a $100M a year natural gas brokerage company and the success of deregulation in Ontario for most of the institutional sector and many Fortune 500 enterprises. He also led the energy conservation program for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton and served on various advisory boards at the provincial level. His interests tend towards the human communications that is enabled and possible through audio/video/data communications systems and the impact of these communications on business processes.
Martin Hicks has been a developer, user and advocate in the Open Sourcecommunity since 1997, first as a systems and network administrator and more recently as a software developer. His interests tend toward the Linux Kernel, specifically in the areas of embedded systems and high performance computing, however he is proficient in many areas of Linux. Martin graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2002, with a B.A.Sc.in Computer Engineering. Since then he has filled his time as a consultant, contractor and president of Bork Consulting Inc. In his spare time, he prefers to be clinging precariously to a rock face orracing along single-track on his mountain bike.
Mr. Desjardins has been developing websites and web applications since 1996. He possesses exceptional skills in software development, teaching, visual arts, and music. Mr. Desjardins has won several awards such as the OACETT Best Technical Report Award for a talking word processor for the blind, the A+ Business Plan Award for excellence in business strategies, and a GTEC award where he was part of a team that built a videoconferencing system for the Judicial Court of Canada. When not developing websites, Denis composes music, dabbles in photography, and enjoys traveling around the world and learning different cultures.
