From Forbes and Inside Higher Ed. "Inside Higher Ed reported today that Google and edX are partnering to offer an open-source MOOC — massively open online course — platform. The announcement means that virtually anyone will be able to create online course offerings. This move is likely to cause further disruption in the race among edX’s competitors, Udacity and Coursera, to gain the high ground in the creation and delivery of online education.

There are many forms of video, if you take moment to look back you'll note silent, black and white as well as stop motion video.
There are some stop motion feature length films and the the amount of time and effort needed to create these is remarkable. If you have seen Coraline , it is an example of stop motion 3D. There are other films that are listed under this category that take much effort from the creators.
Stop motion video can also be done not using 3D. Take this for example.
