Two of my favourite things are video production and working with children…
Imagine one week where all the while you get to laugh, play, sing, dance, run, jump and feel love surround you. Possibilities are endless, joy is never ending and you are surrounded by a whirlwind and caught up in a high you feel like you will never come down from.
That is what a week at Camp Quality is like. My friend Nate McNeil freelance worker for Videotelephony embarked on a weeklong journey of shooting, editing and fun.
When I first arrived I was nervous. Would anyone like me? Would they tell me get away from them? Would they be camera shy? Would someone throw an egg at me? ( You never know) Questions raced through my mind and my anxiety level soared.
When Nate and I arrived we were given t-shirts and were allowed to check out our cabins. After a brief meeting the companions set off to get the kids. A few hours later they arrived…
From then on it was beautiful, wonderful and so much more than I could have ever hoped for. This is truly one of the greatest things I have ever done on my life. Working in an environment where the goal is to let kids be kids allows you as an adult to also just be you. This camp attracts wonderful people who are should be congratulated for their strength, effort and dedication.
Pam and Glenn Mooney and the other staff at Camp Quality now hold a space in my heart. The amount of effort everyone puts in is unsurmountable and this write-up is really not enough to convey that.
I am proud to have made a video, proud to have met the people I did and proud that there are wonderful people in our community that are dedicated to making a huge difference in the lives of children.
Our video preview was shown at camp…when we are complete with a full version we will place it up.
